Medical Outreach and Services: Oriental Energy provides free medical services in Mbo Local Government Area to improve health outcomes of the local population, as well as address their unmet needs for various aspects of health care.  Periodically, Oriental partners with competent medical professionals to offer free medical services including care and enablement services for the physically challenged, school health promotion, laboratory testing, administering and dispensing medication, health screening for some chronic diseases, vision testing and eye care, provision of medicated eye glasses, maternal and child health care, as well as general health care. Working in collaboration with primary health care centres and health professionals from the community in 2015, Oriental Energy’s medical outreach benefited 7,000 persons, with a total of 2000 hygiene packs, 500 mosquito nets, 478 eyeglasses and 20 wheelchairs distributed to beneficiaries.

 

Effiat Health Centre & Doctor’s Quarters: Across Nigeria, many healthcare professionals are reluctant to be retained in rural communities where standard provision for residential accommodation are not available for them. To address this challenge in Effiat community, which had no previous history of a health centre, Oriental Energy constructed a health centre and doctor’s quarters to meet the needs of the community and the healthcare professionals, respectively.
